Hi Temp Sections can be installed inside a convection oven as a preheat or booster prior to convection curing of powders and paints.
Sections are easily bolted and wired together to form IR banks, making them ideal for numerous other applications that require short, medium, or long wave infrared heat. The back of the infrared heater panels feature threaded studs for mounting, and a junction box with knockouts for service connection to a hi-temp ceramic terminal block. The heaters can be bolted and wired end-to-end OR side-by-side. |
Standard Specifications:
- Construction: 20 gauge steel housing, gold anodized aluminum reflectors and end caps
- Ceramic socket designed to accept 1-2 heating elements
- Elements can be wired for single or 3-phase operation, and may be wired in series
- Durable powder coated finish housing and perforated side closures
- 450° rated Firezone internal wiring
- J-Box w/ knockouts and ceramic terminal strip mounted to the back of the heater for easy wiring access
- Mounting studs welded to back of heater for quick mounting to frames, walls or other structures
- Designed to accept a variety of infrared heating elements, including short wave quartz lamps,
- 3-reflector models are easily wired for balanced 3-phase operation
- Heaters can be easily bolted to other heaters side-by-side OR end-to-end
- Knockouts on heater housing enable continuous wiring from heater to heater
- Models are shipped fully assembled and ready for installation (elements not included - must be installed by customer)
PLEASE NOTE:
- Heating elements must be ordered separately, due to the variety of options available.
- Heaters accept ONE or TWO infrared elements per 5-1/2” reflector, at all voltages.
- Consult with a Fostoria application engineer for assistance with element selection.
- Sections may require cooling blowers when operated at highest wattages or when sections are combined to form banks
Element Options for Hi-Temp Sections
Infrared T-3 Quartz Lamp Type T3 lamps utilize a low mass tungsten filament to provide a high temperature source that responds rapidly to voltage changes, thereby allowing precise control in steady-state or dynamic situations. Lamps are hermetically sealed and filled with an inert gas. The temperature of a T3 lamp operating at full voltage is approximately 4000ºF making its peak energy wavelength 1.15 microns. These lamps are available in several standard lengths with a wattage rating of 100 watts per linear inch. |
Infrared Medium Wave Quartz Tubes
Medium waves (quartz tubes) are less radiant efficient, but are less expensive and in some cases provide the best wavelength for the application.
